In luxury, most homes clients are looking for a spacious bedroom that can easily fit a King size bed. Often clients look for an additional sitting area in the primary suite to take in a view and enjoy a cup of coffee, wine, or a good book.

Having a fireplace in your Primary Suite is a great bonus. High ceilings and lots of windows are key as well.

Having a glorious mountain view at a luxury home is typically a requirement, so large windows to enjoy that view are key. Having access to private outdoor space is a welcome addition.

Of course, a large walk-in closet or two is typically needed in a luxury Primary Suite. Let’s not forget one of the most important features, an ensuite luxury bathroom!

Luxurious Bathroom Features

When enjoying time in the mountains, having a warm spa-like bathroom is key. From heated floor tile to steam showers, luxury bathrooms should offer warmth and comfort.

Key elements in a luxury bathroom include dual vanities. with granite or quartz counters, a private space for the toilet with a door, a linen closet, heated towel bars, soaking tubs, and a separate shower space. Showers should be spacious and you cannot go wrong with body sprays or rain shower heads.

Private laundry in the primary bathroom or closet space is becoming more and more popular as well.

Primary Closets in Luxury Homes

Custom closets are big business. When you have nice clothing and accessories, you want to be able to see options and have storage that allows items to be easily accessible.

Having a closet, or two, that you can walk into and clearly see items is important. Hanging space, shelves, and built-in drawers are important, as well as built-in shoe racks and jewelry storage.

Additionally having a place to sit down and a full-length mirror in your luxury closet is a must.

If you are buying luxury real estate, the sky is the limit when designing and planning a primary bedroom suite. In addition to some of the features listed above, many clients must consider having an office space that is attached to the bedroom but can be closed off for separation.

My husband and I reside in downtown Boone and have 2 beautiful children, Sadie Rose and Levi. We attend Alliance Bible Fellowship and stay connected by serving the community and supporting local non-profits like Western Youth Network, The Appalachian Theatre and Valle Crucis Community Park. We love to spend time outside hiking, playing on the river, running with their dog, Emmie Lou, hitting the slopes and making the most of our time in this amazing place we get to call home!
